Chisels
Gray Tools Chisels
Chisels have been used for centuries, they're actually one of the oldest tools in the history of humankind. There are a few types of chisels: wood, masonry, and metalwork. We offer different types of chisels and here are what each is for:- Flat Chisels: This is the most common chisel. It features a flattened ends, which is the working end, with a sharp cutting edge. They come in different widths and are able to break chains, remove burrs, and cut bolts.
- Rivet Buster Chisels: Almost the same as a flat chisel except the cutting edge is off-center. This lets the chisel lay flat and slide easily under the rivet being removed.
- Diamond-Point Chisels: The working end features a unique diamond shaped point. These are specifically made to punch wholes and make groves in the shape of a "V" in sheet steel.
- Cape Chisels: These have a narrower cutting edge than flat chisels. They're designed to square off rounded corners in grooves or to cut new grooves in steel with square edges.
- Round Nose Chisels: Almost the same as the cape chisel except one side has a round edge instead of a straight edge. The rounded edge lets it cut grooves with round bottoms.
