+ Can I use standard round-shank drill bits in this tool?
Not directly. The chuck is engineered exclusively to accept slotted SDS Plus masonry bits. To run standard smooth round-shank twist drill bits for wood or metal, you will need to purchase an optional SDS Plus to 1/2" Keyless Chuck Adapter and run the tool strictly in "Rotation Only" mode.

The Hammer Only mode stops the tool from spinning and applies purely linear hammering forces. When paired with an SDS Plus chisel, scraping, or scaling bit, it allows you to easily pop off old tile, remove stubborn mortar beds, chip away concrete flashing, or groove channels for conduit.
