The Knipex 25 01 160 Snipe Nose Pliers are engineered for high-stress gripping and cutting tasks in confined spaces. Unlike inferior tools where the tips can snap or permanently deform under load, these pliers feature elastic precision tips that are distortion-tolerant, snapping back to their original position even after heavy twisting.
The integrated side cutter is induction-hardened to approximately 61 HRC, allowing you to cut through medium-hard wire (2.5 mm) and even hard wire (1.6 mm) with ease. Forged from vanadium electric steel and multi-stage oil-hardened, these 6-1/4" pliers provide the perfect balance of a slim profile for reach and industrial strength for reliability.

What makes the "Elastic Tips" special? +
Standard needle-nose pliers often have brittle tips that snap or stay bent when twisted. Knipex Elastic Tips are designed to flex under load and spring back to their original shape, ensuring the jaws remain perfectly aligned for the life of the tool.
Are these suitable for cutting piano wire? +
No. While the 25 01 160 handles medium and hard wire exceptionally well, it is not rated for piano wire. For cutting piano wire, we recommend using the Knipex High-Leverage Diagonal Cutters (74 series).
Can I use these for electrical work? +
These are excellent for mechanical assembly and de-energized electrical work. However, the plastic-dipped handles are not VDE-insulated. If you are working on live circuits, please use the Knipex 25 06 160 (1000V VDE rated) model.
