Should I Stick To The SAME Brand Of Cordless Tools?

This article isn’t to say which is the best of one brand and why you should buy only that brand. We’re going to discuss why sticking to one brand only for cordless power tools is helpful for you.

For one thing, it’s cheaper. Whether you work on a team of people or you’re buying multiple cordless tools for DIY projects and only you use them, it’s going to be cheaper to stick to one brand. Whether that’s Dewalt, Milwaukee, Makita, or Bosch, it’s more inexpensive to have all your cordless tools come from one. Why? Well - most brands now make their batteries fit multiple tools that they manufacturer. Sure, voltages of batteries may be different, but once you have the 12V, 18V, and 28V batteries, say from Milwaukee, you can buy all the Milwaukee cordless tools that fit these batteries and just switch the battery from tool to tool. That’s why they sell bare tools, you don’t need a battery for each tool.

You also just need the charger that fits that battery. In essence, you can have five 18V cordless power tools, one battery, and one charger. Have multiple employees? Get two or three batteries. The more brands you buy, the more brands of batteries and chargers you need. Seems like a lot of systems to keep track of… and clutter. As a result of needing less batteries and chargers, your workstation will be more organized.

Do you agree? Or do you prefer having various brands? The only downside to sticking to one brand is once you’ve established one battery system and you want to try another, you have to rebuild your collection. Come by Edmonton Fasteners and talk to our experts on cordless tools. They’ll find what brand likely works best for your applications.
