3M Smoke and Sound Barrier Tape, 12 in x 75 ft3M Smoke and Sound Tape is an elastomeric tape that can act as a barrier to smoke and airborne sound transmission in non-fire-rated wall and floor assemblies, by minimizing transfer between rooms and floors when installed in a variety of construction joints and some through penetrations. This tape creates an effective barrier to mitigate smoke and toxic gas spread, with an L-rating of less than 1 CFM/linear foot at ambient and 204°C (400°F). It has been tested to ASTM E 90 and ASTM E 413 – achieving an STC-Rating of 54 when tested in an STC 54-rated wall assembly.

• Acts as barrier to smoke and airborne sound in non-fire-rated wall and floor assemblies
• Minimizes smoke and sound transfer between rooms and floors
• High tack adhesive bonds to most common building materials
• Adheres to damp surfaces
• Can be installed in a broad range of temperatures as low as -18°C (0°F) and as high as 49°C (120°F)

Ideal for providing a smoke and sound seal for construction joints and some through penetration applications in non-fire-rated wall and floor assemblies, including smoke partitions and acoustic assemblies
